Nothing else sounds like a Kanile'a. I enjoy both my K1C which is pre Tru R bracing and my long neck Concert with beautiful heartwood and low G tuning the K1CS has no added embellishments but they'd only be overshadowed by the beautiful heartwood Koa of this little gem. I waited and searched for SO ling to find one in the UK and finally found one at Uke republic. I've had it for three years and it just gets better as it matures as an instrument. I'm trying to save enough to purchase a Kanile'a Baritone but with rising prices in the UK on just about everything it's still out of reach currently. At 74 I've learnt to be patient and of course I keep my eyes open for a preloved example. In my opinion Kanile'a has no rivals. Keep doing what you do.❤
what kind of ukelele he use. concert or tenor ?
Nice!!!
I preferred #1.
Very interesting.
Touch and release bracing correct?
The importance and joy of arts and music. Gladdens my heart to see. Thank you Kanile’a to show humanity at its best when sharing and giving. May the program in Kenya benefit more children. Thank you Amos for sharing your story.
WOW.. What a great program 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
My god, what a beautiful piece 🤩
This video is very confusing. The can of 3-in-1 oil leads one to think that this is the oil he is using on the fretboard. However, if you slow down the video, he is actually getting the oil from the black container with the hand pump on top. Too bad he doesn’t mention what oil he is using, since that would be more helpful.
Had me scratching my head for a moment for sure. I use lemon oil and have had good results on fretboards and bridges.
This is so wonderful! Thank you for sharing
Beach sand
Mahalo, brah! Great video! Would it be okay for use one soft bristle toothbrush and then the microfiber? Old English lemon furniture oil is what I’ve been using and it to do the trick.
Three in One Oil. Not D'addario Lemon Oil as discussed in other videos. This short shows the initial oil, not a cleaning process, so perhaps there is a difference. Some customers are going to be confused when they need to oil and clean their fretboards, Fretboard oiling generates pages and pages of different opinions almost in minutes. Perhaps some explanation would help Kanilea owners?
I don't think anybody of sound mind would assume this is a maintenance process. They don't have to explain anything to you or anybody else.
Gorgeous sounding ukulele, and well played by Nalani! Wow!
Best instrument I’ve ever owned
so much aloha in this video, love it
For non-professionals, the best way to evaluate a uke’s intonation is by sounding a harmonic on the 12th fret and comparing that note to the pitch of the note fretted at the 12th fret. This simple test can be done quickly in the music store before you buy. Harmonics on the 7th and 5th frets also can be used to check intonation.) By the way, string height also affects intonation.
Any chance that we can get a Kanile’a business update? I’ve been very confused this year. We see these stunning $10k plus models that we all love but few can afford. Then there are the amazing new models that were introduced earlier this year but they mostly seem to be build on order. USA ukulele retailers seem to have only old models. I love my Kanile’a ukuleles and love the company. Just trying to understand how I should think about future Kanile’a purchases. Thanks
It's been a while since the last appearance! Awesome!
Outstanding sir!! Your technique, flawless !!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
Seems like the vote is unanimous. The fret markets and logo sure look like sand to me as well.
The sound is very live. Beautiful, both to see and hear. I’m guessing Kailua sand for the dots and all?
Insane.. thank you 😃🤙
So awesome.. Beautiful instrument, thank you for this detailed look
Glad you like it!
@@KanileaUkulele LOVED IT!!
Wow It’s a beauty! Putting this one on my wish list!! ❤
You should!
kailua sand
The magic that is Kanile'a! Sand for the markers ...
Mahalo!
Beautiful! And what a bright sound for a Kanile'a. I'm thinking sand as well for the dots and logo.
It is quite bright. The volume is hard to bring across the computer.
So beautiful ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
White sand fret dots,logo
Beautiful showcase, stunning Port Oxford Cedar, don’t think I have ever seen anything as curly on an instrument. Sounds gorgeous. Have a great week.
Thank you very much!
Braddah Joe, I didn't know you had a store at Ala Moana I seen it on Monday, congratulations! However, you have some lazy workers there that only sit down and play there ukuleles all day. I would have them clean the store if it's not busy, but then again I'm not their boss.
Aloha, we apologize for your experience. We aim to make every experience with Kanile’a special and we are sorry you didn’t receive that level of service. We received your email yesterday and we have already addressed it with the staff who were on duty at the time. We also tried reaching back out to you via email to have conversations and give you the service you can expect from Kanile’a. Please give us a call or email back when you can. Mahalo!
@@KanileaUkulele Aloha, thank you for getting back to me and addressing my experience. I appreciate your genuine kindness.
Merci pour ces vidéos. C'est fantastique de voir ce savoir-faire et de voir la beauté de ces œuvres d'art se révéler. Oui vos ukulélé sont de véritables oeuvres d'art. Encore merci.
I love my Kanile’a tenor ukulele.
Still such a beautiful voice, " blue darling" / Sparkes ❤
Definitely #2. The differences I heard were more volume/projection ("presence") and a bit more bass and more treble, too. The treble/bass boost wasn't enough to create an unbalance in the midrange. The effect was, rather, to give a bit more "presence" and not just volume. Definitely a master stroke in ukulele design.
I love this!
Your introduction of the Oha series is a masterstroke, Kaimana. I think the spirit of the ukulele is transferable. After all, it came originally from Madeira, became the national instrument of your home and then spread around the world. Our Chinese brothers have proven their ability to produce instruments of the highest quality, as they have in the bowed string, mandolin and guitar families. Best wishes for your continued success!
Your friendliness, warmth and enthusiasm for this dynamic "little" instrument really comes through in this video, Joe.
Beautiful Ukuleles. I am fortunate to have just recently obtained one with the TRU-R bracing in April 2024, and it sounds great. I definitely heard a better tone from the second one, but since volume is also determined by how hard the strings are plucked, I would not judge them based on volume comparison.
The BEST
Both instruments are great but nuber 2 was just a bit better tonally. Interesting comparison. You put a lot of time & effort into innovation and research for which thanks are deserved.
#2 has a more open sound.
#2 is lighter and has more clarity.
Wow noticeably increased decibel level.
Number 2 sounds like it was the one with tru-reduction.
My inner engineering nerd is well and truely delighted. Love the breakdown. Thanks Kanile’a. To me number 2 was more balanced and harmonised stunningly, with more clarity. That said, number one was still better than anything I have, hands down. Thank you and have a great week.
Instrument 2, beautiful sound and brighter
Elua
Number two, obvious difference, even though #1 sounds good.
